Suzanne Somers Has Experimental Breast Reconstruction Procedure

By Radar Staff

Breast cancer survivor Suzanne Somers has revealed she's had an experimental stem cell procedure which helped restore her famous bust line.

The 65-year-old TV icon, best-selling author and home shopping mogul was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001 and underwent a lumpectomy and radiation which she says left her with a less than perfect chest.

Somers said that in the years since her surgery, she had a double D cup on one side and a B on the other.

Then she heard about Japanese surgeon, Dr. Kotora Yoshimura, who in 2004 developed stem-cell breast reconstruction.

"I invited him over to Los Angeles to see if we could work together," she told People magazine.

"He examined me. I kept saying, 'Bet you've never seen these big American whoppers before'."

The Three's Company star decided to give the procedure a go, but wanted to do it in the U.S., and last August she helped launch a clinical trial which has been approved by an independent medical board.

Her surgery involved Los Angeles plastic surgeon, Dr. Joel Aronowitz, removing fat from her stomach via liposuction and then harvesting stem cells from half of it and combining it with the remaining fat.

The mixture was then injected back into her smaller breast to fill it up to a C cup. Somers then had the larger breast reduced.

"This whole thing is a win-win," she said of the 2 1/2 hour procedure.

"It's tempting to go without a bra now, but I won't for my grandchildren."

NFL Players Give Radar Their Super Bowl Predictions!

By Debbie Emery - Radar Reporter

Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest betting day of the year, and whether it’s a few bucks spent on a squares game or thousands of dollars with a bookie in Las Vegas, everyone has their opinion about who they think is going to win.

RadarOnline.com asked some real experts who they thought was going to take home the coveted Lombardi Trophy in Indianapolis on February 5 when the New England Patriots face off against the New York Giants, catching up with football players past and present at the NFL Players Association Pulse Awards in Los Angeles.

Former New England linebacker Willie McGinest is still loyal to his former team despite being traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2006.

“I don’t like to make predictions but I thought there was going to be a 2007 rematch, Patriots and the Giants,” McGinest told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview.

“I am going to be a homer and say the Patriots, who else am going to say?” said the lineman who played in a past Super Bowl with Tom Brady in their team’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

It’s a good job Marshall Faulk, a former running back who won a Super Bowl ring with the St. Louis Rams and quarterback Kirk Warner isn’t a betting man.

“I was hoping to see the San Francisco 49ers and the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, with the Niners winning,” he told RadarOnline.com, but unfortunately for him SF lost out on their spot in the big game to the Giants.

While Eli Manning is hoping to lead New York to a second Super Bowl ring, Faulk was more keen to chat about his big brother, Peyton, who missed out on the 2012 season with the Indianapolis Colts after he suffered a serious neck injury.

“I hope Peyton doesn’t retire, he is great for the game and is a great quarterback. I wish I had the chance to play with him. He’s a great guy and he’s really smart, I just hope he continues to play if he can,” said Marshall.

Charlie Batch, back up quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers said: “I don’t do predictions, I just want to see a good game,” then went on to say that he wished he was playing.

“If I could choose who is in it, it would be Pittsburgh! It’s different watching it on the other side, it makes it much harder because you’re so close but so far away. Especially when you’re watching New England, who we played this year, and now we’re sat at home watching them,” he told Radar.Online.com

“You want to wish both teams the best of luck and have them go out there and have a great game and accomplish what we weren’t able to do last year, which is winning the Super Bowl,” explained Batch, referring to the Steelers 2011 Super Bowl loss against the Green Bay Packers.

“It’s all about winning Super Bowls and if you have the opportunity then you have to cherish the moment.”

After an illustrious career with the Denver Broncos, retired running back Terrell Davis is picking New York to be victorious on Sunday.

“The Giants are probably the most complete team in the NFL right now,” he told RadarOnline.com.

Gisele Bundchen’s Private Email Goes Public: ‘Please Pray For Tom’

Davis went on to dish about the most talked about QB after Tom Brady, deeply-religious Tim Tebow, who leads Terrell’s former team.

“It’s been fun watching Tebow this year, it’s been the same excitement each week,” he said.

“Everyone  was looking forward to those games, when you watch him one week you can’t wait until the next week. He is so unpredictable in his play, whether you were for him or against him it was impossible not to watch.”

When asked if he thought Tebow deserved the massive media attention he’s been getting, Davis replied: “I understand the hype because he’s a likeable person, if you meet him you can’t deny he is nice guy that people gravitate to. But on the flip side, as a quarterback his play wasn’t stellar at most times.

“It was inconsistent at best so we know we like him, but you have to question why he was getting so much hype,” said Davis.

After the football stars shared their predictions on the Super Bowl and their reflections on the past season, they all enjoyed the Backstage Creations Celebrity Retreat, where they were treated to BiGR Audio Designer Headphones, a Croton Timepiece watches, Wrapture cigars, Tom James Custom Shirts, Fly Society skateboard clothing, and Phiten USA sports accessories.

Model With Real-Life Hourglass Figure

By Radar Staff

Her waist is just 20 inches but the model with the real-life hourglass figure, Loana Spangenberg, insists she lives on a diet of chips, pizzas and kebabs.

The 30-year-old tips the scales at a miniscule 84 lbs. but claims her diet is consistent with a woman twice her size.

"No one seems to believe it, but every day I eat three big meals and I snack on chocolate and crisps all the time," the Romanian-born model told the UK's Sun newspaper. "I just have a small stomach. It's a bit like having a natural gastric band - if I eat too much, I feel sick."

With a 20 inch waist and 32 inch hips, Loana's hourglass figure -- which she says she's had since a teen - causes a lot of controversy.

"When I was 13 my waist was around 15 inches," she said. "Someone could put their hands around it, their fingers would touch and they would still have extra room.

"In Romania it is better to be overweight, because that means you are from a wealthy family. So while my friends were going out an dating, I was sitting at home with Mars bars wishing I could fatten up."

However in 2006, after meeting her German husband, she realized she could utilize her figure, as he encouraged her to become a model.

"I would still like to gain weight so I don't look so shocking," she said. "And now that I live in Germany I can't get enough pizza or kebabs."

Taylor Momsen - 'I Love Stripper Shoes'

By Radar Staff

Taylor Momsen appears in a new photo shoot for this month’s FHM Magazine, and the 18-year-old former Gossip Girl star who fronts The Pretty Reckless rock band and is the face of Madonna’s fashion line, opens up about men, music and her very unique style.

“I love stripper shoes and I always try to find the tallest ones!" Taylor confessed.

"I’m always surprised no one talks about my shoes. I’m, like, on stage in 15-inch heels but people talk more about my eye make-up, which has stayed the same forever. I always think that’s funny. I’m 5’8”. So I’m really tall.

PHOTOS: Taylor Momsen Flashes Crowd Again

"I got into heels when I was little," she revealed. "My mom's really short so she always wears really tall heels and I used to steal them and now it’s just a part of my everyday life.”

How the men around her dress is important to the teen too. “I don’t like guys who overdress. And I don’t like guys who try too hard."

Men Taylor does like being around are Brit rockers. "Most of my favorite bands are from England. The Beatles, Zeppelin, The Who. America loses there," she told FHM. "I love that there’s so much history. It’s so cool to drive past Abbey Road Studios because you can understand where and how those bands came to be."

PHOTOS: Taylor Momsen - Pretty Reckless... With Makeup

If her worth ethic has anything to do with it, Taylor may reach star status as a rocker some day in the future.

“I can work 24 hours a day and not have it bother me and not be exhausted by it because that was built and instilled in me at such a young age. To be honest, I don’t know what to do when I’m not working," she said.

Taylor's Interview and photos are in the current issue of FHM on sale now.

Illinois Teen Overcomes Parents’ Cancer Battles To Become Star Wrestler And Serve Country

By Debbie Emery - Radar Reporter

Most aspiring high school athletes grew up kicking soccer balls around or practicing their wrestling moves with their dads, but Michael Woulfe had a different kind of bonding with his parents, who were both diagnosed with cancer when he was a small child.

The 17-year-old from Oak Park, Illinois, has overcome adversity that would have beaten the spirit of many adults and has grown up to become not only a valedictorian of his high school, but also a varsity wrestler, and has now been accepted in the U.S. Naval Academy.

Michael’s esteemed sporting and academic achievements are even more impressive considering his father, Brian, was diagnosed with Mantle cell lymphoma when his youngest of three sons was just six, and then mom, Nancy, began her battle with breast cancer two years later.

PHOTOS: Celebs Stand Up To Cancer

“I was really little when my parents got sick, I was so young so it's always been part of my life,” Michael told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview.

“As far his memory goes, cancer is just part of what we did,” dad Brian explained to RadarOnline.com, going on to reveal that even though he couldn't hit balls with his son in the backyard, Michael didn’t miss out on America’s favorite pastime.

“Nancy’s father was a huge baseball fan and gave him that love of the game,” he shared. “His mom was always determined to be at as many Little League games as possible even if she had to wear a scarf on her head after getting chemotherapy.”

When Michael was 11, his dad underwent a stem cell transplant that meant they could spend even less time hanging out together because of the risk of infection. “I had to do 100 days of isolation, most people do it in a hospital but we did it from my house. We sealed off the bedroom and bathroom, and I wore a mask when I left those rooms,” explained Brian.

With the help of his big brothers, David and Patrick, as he got older Michael discovered his love of wrestling and become a member of the Oak Park-River Forest team.

“I am a very competitive person by nature, having two older brothers who want to beat you and you want to beat them,” he explained. “My mom has always expected excellence from us, her standards are high and she taught me to set mine higher.”

In a tragic twist of fate, a third important person in his life is also suffering from a terminal illness, as wrestling coach Mike Powell was been diagnosed with a deliberating disease that destroys his muscles.

“He would tell us these incredible feats of strength he would do but then couldn’t walk without a cane or get up stairs. He was so full of energy and so strong, you believed he was invincible so to see him devastated by disease was heartbreaking,” Michael said.

PHOTOS: Stars Without Make-up

Powell has now regained much of his strength despite 40 per cent of his muscle being destroyed, and says that his hero is Michael.

“It’s hard to admit as a 35-year-old man that you look up to a 17-year-old kid, but I do,” said the Oak Park-River Forest wrestling coach.

“ I don’t feel like I should be an inspiration,” responded Michael modestly. “To see him come back is a great inspiration to everyone around him. “I feel like he thinks I am a much greater kid than I do.”

Michael’s next challenge will be to prove he is not a kid anymore. After being nominated by congressman Danny Davis, he will be packing his bags two weeks after his high school graduation in June and moving into the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis., Maryland.

“I grew up wanting to serve my country, I am so happy in the water and could live in a boat my entire life, so it sounds fun and exciting to serve in the Navy,” said the excited teen.
