Tweed With Yellow Socks - by Richard
I honestly think I may have an obsession with yellow socks! However, I think my obsession is a good one, because nothing is more preppy than pairing yellow socks with gray flannels, or today's choice, tweed. This image evokes the quintessential prep: tweed, yellow socks, loafers, and a club tie. Sure, the yellow socks go against the rules, but preppiness just happens to break a lot of those rules.

Striped Knit Ties - by Richard
Everytime I wear a knit tie (striped or not), I always get some astonishing comment. Is that tie made of a sock? What kind of tie is that? Regardless, I find them beautiful and highly appropriate with a navy blazer. Some of my favorites are striped knits, navy solid, and yellow solid knits. Don't worry about the silly questions, they just don't understand that you are the best thing going today!

Tennis - by Richard
Tennis is truly a WASPy sport, but I am afraid that today's player lacks the WASPy appeal that was once there until after the 1980s. Wooden racquets, tennis sweaters, and cream blazers are the hallmark of a once very preppy sport. And of course, grass is the preppiest surface to play on.

Dressing for the Big Game - by Crawford
The Super Bowl just ended and the Giants were victorious. While watching the game, I couldn't help but wonder whether the fans attending the big game in Indianapolis were as dashingly dressed as the fans who attended the Harvard-Yale game this past November at the Yale Bowl. Sadly, I doubt they were. I take solace in the thought that dapper students and alumni will again gather together this autumn at Harvard Stadium as the storied rivalry continues -- may the tweed jackets, bow ties, fur jackets, and J Press scarves be plentiful.

Polka Dots ~ by Kipp
I have always had a special predilection towards polka dots. They are one of my favorite feminine prints, and are a fun and flirty way to add an interesting dimension to any outfit. Although polka dots lend themselves more as a spring print they can be done in winter colors as well. Polka dots can even spread in to menswear as a print on a tie or pocket square. However, the polka dots must be very small and be in darker colors. Brooks Brothers always carries a wide variety.I especially adore polka dots on a flowy silk blouse as in the image above. I love the combination that this woman is wearing, although I feel that the accessories are not quite on point. A white skirt with nude shoes is not the best idea. I also am not very partial to her black clutch.A more romantically feminine look with embellishments such as ruffles and bows is very on trend this season. However, for those of us with WASPy/ preppy style, we know this is not a trend accent but an essential aspect of style.

British TV Series, Trinity - by Richard
Its amazing what you can find on NetFlix, and this weekend, I found a British series called Trinity. The acting is not the best, but there is enough visual pleasure and plot to keep one interested. However, the most fascinating thing about the show is an elite group of aristocrats who call themselves the Dandelion Club. All in all, it is a show worth checking out.
