It's official: Bono is the richest rock star ever
The rich just get richer, don't they? U2 lead singer Bono is now a multi-billionaire, thanks to his stake in Facebook. Just how much money will he deposit in his bank account today?

U2 lead singer and activist Bono became the world's richest rock star in one fell swoop on Friday, thanks to his investment in Facebook. The Irish singer made $1.5 billion for the social media giant's initial public offering — not bad, considering he invested $90 million back in 2009.

You know what that means: Bono now has enough money to buy Africa and end hunger once and for all. Well, maybe not all of Africa, but a good portion. We kid, we kid, though we do expect Bono to amp up his already considerable donations to humanitarian causes.

Bono hasn't talked much about his new cash — instead, he's focused on raising money for other musicians who aren't as well off. The singer — along with producer Quincy Jones and other musicians — got together Thursday night in Harlem for a benefit, according to Rolling Stone.

"We don't just dedicate this song to the ones who've passed on," Bono said while performing U2's "Angel of Harlem," referring to Donna Summer's death from cancer on Thursday morning. "Tonight we're thinking of the ones who are still with us."

He's also set to get back in the studio with The Edge and the rest of his U2 partners, according to MTV.

"The band are back in the studio getting a feel for new material after the last album No Line On The Horizon," a source told the music network. "Will.i.am had a credit on that and they are looking to explore that direction further. They have been working with Danger Mouse and RedOne. They are excited about getting to work with Carl Falk."

We hope he finds time to swim in a pool filled entirely with $100 bills, too. That's what we'd do, at least.

Starz' Magic City: "The Harder They Fall"
The Miramar Playa hosted a televised boxing match, and Ike suffered a TKO, in last week's Magic City.

Following the mysterious disappearance of Judi Silver in "Suicide Blonde," District Attorney Jack Klein seems more convinced than ever that Ike Strauss is up to some shady business. We, of course, know that Ike saved Judi from an almost certain death and shipped her out of the country for safe keeping. Klein only knows that Ike is hiding something — probably a lot of things — and it seems only a matter of time before the district attorney finds out what.

At the opening of "The Harder They Fall," Klein called for the draining of the quarry where Judi Silver was last seen and expressed his conviction that Ike is up to foul play. By episode's end, Klein had discovered the car Ike had submerged with Judi's would-be assassin inside of it. Curioser and curioser.

Sandwiched between these two notable events, however, Ike's personal problems continued to mount without the D.A.'s involvement.

First off, there's Ike's ever-poisonous business relationship with Ben Diamond. Confiding in his own father that he wants to buy Ben out of the partnership before gambling becomes legalized, Ike was gifted with the advice to delay the legal process as much as possible until Ben simply becomes restless and leaves of his own accord. This suggestion prompted Ike to visit with Senator Sloat to tell him to stand firm. All the while, Ike continued to save face with Ben Diamond — a vote wouldn't happen until Easter recess, Ike told his gangster pal with feigned disappointment.

But Ben wanted to know where his $100,000 corruption donation was going, if not to secure gambling at the Miramar Playa. And so one big question hangs in the air like Ike and Ben's cigar smoke: How much time can Ike buy before Ben finds out what's really going on here?

Meanwhile, Ben began to get closer to the truth about his wife's affair with Stevie, after turning her bedroom upside down in a search for evidence. Soon, he was casually needling Stevie about his sex life and making the kid sweat bullets. Given how careless Stevie and Lilly have been about their frequent sexual romps, it's really hard to believe a guy of Ben's acumen hasn't figured all of this out already.

Oh, and those X-rated photos Lilly and Stevie took of each other? The ones Stevie kept insisting he'd destroyed? They're now, predictably, being used as blackmail material by the cat burglar who's been a thorn in the side of the Miramar for the last couple of weeks. Coincidentally, the burglar slipped the photos and accompanying extortion note under Stevie's door while Mercedes and Danny were occupying the room, so now Stevie's little brother knows what the elder Strauss boy has been up to all this time.

It was, for the first time in this series, a good time to be Danny Strauss. After several weeks of being the bland, unreadable kid on the sidelines — given little to do but moon after Mercedes — Danny was rewarded with a strong scene opposite Ike in "The Harder They Fall" that finally squared these two guys against one other. You see, Jack Klein finally made good on his plan to bring Danny into the fold of his legal offices, offering the kid a prestigious summer internship. Not surprisingly, Ike didn't like the idea and Danny couldn't have cared less.

At the end of their father-son spat, Danny may have had some influence in how Ike approaches the gradually increasing immorality of his work and life. But why did we have to wait six weeks for these two characters to even begin to challenge one another?

Elsewhere in the episode, the hotel played host for a big televised prizefight that stood to net the Miramar some much-needed cash. Sensing an opportunity to make a quick fortune of his own, Ben began to leak word that he planned to bet on the underdog, and even got Ike to get in on the action with him. Later, after nearly everyone in town had followed Ben's lead, Lilly told Stevie that Ben's real plan was to bet on the champ at the last minute. By the time Stevie relayed the news to his dad, it was too late. Ben had captured a windfall, and Ike had suffered a huge loss .

With Stevie, Ike and Lilly all at dangerous low points, Magic City seems well-positioned for strong drama in its final two hours. Let's hope it lives up to the challenge.

Enchanting decor from Once Upon a Time
From the Mayor's office to Granny's Cafe, we're reflecting on our favorite enchanting decorating moments from the fairy-tale drama Once Upon A Time.

ABC’s Once Upon A Time season finale "A Land Without Magic" was an action-packed adventure with a bit of a surprise ending. For those of you who haven't caught fairy-tale fever and haven't watched the show, the series puts a modern spin on classic storybook characters.

Set in Storybrooke, Maine, the primary story line revolves around the love child of Snow White and Prince Charming, who is responsible for breaking the Evil Queen's curse that dropped everyone into modern time. The story is fascinating but who are we kidding? Our favorite part of the show is the fabulous interior design that has subtle nods to the original fairy-tale characters but with a modern twist.

A wickedly cool office

The Mayor's office perfectly reflects the Evil Queen's character in dramatic black-and-white colors. There are tons of subtle fairy-tale reminders such as the forest wallpaper, sunburst mirror and horse sculpture to honor Prince Charming's noble steed. An obvious character reference is the display of red apples, which is the only accent color in the room.

Get the look from the Mayor's office:

B&W color palette. Sticking to shades of black, white and gray allows accents and patterns to shine through. The effect is stunning in the room.

Layer patterns. Various patterns keep a simple color palette from being simplistic. Damask lattice and modern graphics combine with the forest wallpaper to add interest.

Mirror, mirror. Reflective surfaces like mirrors and chrome give the space sparkle. Lacquer and glossy paint give classic furniture a modern update.

Forest flair

The retro cafe where Red works with her granny is full style. Formerly thought to be suited for mancaves and masculine libraries, woodland wallpaper gets a hip update with the combination of retro furniture. The muted gray walls and checkered floor get a splash of color with a citron-hued hallway.

Get the look from Granny’s Cafe:

Whimsical wallpaper. We totally dig the Mirage wallpaper from Graham & Brown used in the room but if it's too woodsy for you a floral print would look great in a dining room.

Retro dining set. Scour flea markets and antique shops to find a retro dining set or a modern reproduction of dining chairs with chrome legs.

Ambient lighting. Pendant lighting not only gives a room a soft glow, it adds visual interest.

Magically shabby chic

Sweet and simple like Snow White, Mary Margaret's apartment is an industrial loft decked out with eclectic antiques. The budget-friendly decor is a cool example of how exposed brick can get a homey makeover when paired with painted cottage furniture and feminine floral accessories.

Get the look from Mary Margaret's apartment

Building character. Embrace industrial features like exposed brick, peeling paint and easy-to-care-for wood floors rather than covering them up.

Flea-market finds. Get to know your local flea markets, antique shops and second-hand stores and hunt out mismatched furniture pieces for a bargain price.

Painted wood. Unify eclectic furnishings with paint color. Go for a classic shabby-chic look with white-washed wood and paint a few accent pieces in a brighter color like green or yellow.

Once Upon A Time, season one, ended with a bit of a cliffhanger. We're not sure if everyone is staying in modern-day Storybrooke or transporting back to fantasyland, but we sure hope there are more fairy tale-inspired designs to come!

Is bottled water contributing to your child's cavities?
Cavities in children are on the rise these days, and a new theory from dentists and children's health advocates claims bottled water may be partially to blame. Do your kids drink bottled water? Well, they may be at a heightened risk for tooth decay.

Cavities in children are on the rise these days, and a new theory from dentists and children's health advocates claims bottled water may be partially to blame.

Lack of fluoride may increase tooth decay

Do your kids drink bottled water? Well, they may be at a heightened risk for tooth decay.

More kids drinking bottled water -- less fluoride

Lately, dentists are seeing more cavities in children at younger ages. And dentists aren't shy about pointing their finger at the cause: More kids, as many as 45 percent, are drinking bottled water exclusively instead of tap. A study published in the medical journal Pediatric Dentistry examined kids ages six months to 15 years and found that lack of tap water use combined with parental uncertainty about fluoride levels in different brands of bottled water are to blame for the rise in kids' cavities. Since the 1940s, the U.S. has been adding fluoride, a naturally occurring element, to most public sources of drinking water. The move has sent the rate of dental cavities into a downward spiral the last few decades. According to the American Dental Association, fluoride reduces cavities in both children and adults and helps repair the early stages of tooth decay even before the decay becomes visible.

More youngsters getting serious medical treatment

Earlier this year, the New York Times reported that surgery for young children needing to fix their extensive dental maladies is on the rise.

"Dentists nationwide said they are seeing more preschoolers at all income levels with six to 10 cavities or more."

"The number of preschoolers requiring extensive dental work suggests that many other parents make the same mistake. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention noted an increase, the first in 40 years, in the number of preschoolers with cavities in a study five years ago," the article reports.

It should be noted that this problem is not exclusive to a particular socioeconomic status. Dentists nationwide said they are seeing more preschoolers at all income levels with six to 10 cavities or more, according to the Times. And the level of decay is so severe that general anesthesia is often recommended.

Keeping kids' teeth healthy

Parents are still advised to brush young kids' teeth twice daily and avoid sweet foods or liquids before bedtime. Parents should start brushing their kids' baby teeth as soon as they're fully erupted. Experts advise that instilling good dental hygiene at a young age is imperative for kids to continue healthy practices into adulthood.

“You should brush twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, see the dentist twice a year for fluoride treatment and get fluoride in your drinking water,”  Jonathan D. Shenkin, spokesman on pediatric dentistry for the American Dental Association, told msnbc.com. “If you’re not getting it in your drinking water, that takes out a component of the effectiveness of that triad.”

Brad Womack is still a jerk, slams Emily Maynard
Brad Womack is more than a little happy that ex-girlfriend Emily Maynard is on The Bachelorette. Find out what jerky things he has to say about her.

Former Bachelor Brad Womack blamed himself for the breakup of his relationship with Emily Maynard in 2011, but he's singing a different tune now that she's the one doing the picking on this season of The Bachelorette.

Lindzi Cox talks Bachelorette Emily and being so over Ben >>

"I'm glad I think I dodged a bullet with the relationship, so I just hope it works out for her," Womack told Houston ABC station KTRK—TV earlier this week. The Austin-based bar owner didn't elaborate on what he meant, but he did say she's a great woman.

"All I'll say is, she is a hell of a woman. I hope it works out. I'm happy; I hope she's happy. So maybe we can do an interview after the finale and you can tell me what happens," he said, adding that he has "no interest" in watching the show.

Emily Maynard couldn't be happier >>

A really douchey thing to say, right? Well, he wants us to know that he's totally a sincere, normal guy.

"Some people love the show; Some people hate the show. So I just want people to know, 'Hey I'm not just this cheesy reality guy that hands out roses...' I swear I don't have one piece of Bachelor memorabilia. It's just one of those things that came and went," Womack said, even though he went back to The Bachelor twice.

Is The Bachelorette racist? Maybe >>

Last summer, Womack told People that his temper was the reason that his union with Womack fizzled.

"The demise of our relationship was completely my fault," he told the entertainment magazine. "I gave Em every reason under the sun to get out much sooner than she did. She hung in there with me much, much longer than she should have."

He added that he'd blow up at her — and it sounded kind of scary.

"I would get so angry and would feel almost violated," he revealed. "I would keep those feelings bottled up, and by the time I had the chance to speak to Em… I would let that negative emotion come flooding out, and it was almost as if she was being attacked."

Maynard hasn't publicly blasted her ex, though she did reveal that she was worried he'd show up on the debut episode of the show. And if it doesn't work out with whomever she chooses this season? Well, she can always call John Mayer. The musician told Ellen DeGeneres that he loves watching The Bachelorette and The Bachelor.

"I don't even feel like it's my fault," he said. "It's not a guilty pleasure — it's designed to be a pleasure."

Mayer added that he loves how producers set up the dramatic scenes on the show. "They have to ask someone like Ben [Flajnik, the last Bachelor], 'Okay, Ben, we need you to walk out on the balcony without a shirt and just think,'" he joked. "So he has to walk out there and do this without his shirt on, so he can overlay it with, 'Yesterday brought me a lot of questions, a lot of questions in my mind.'"

He wouldn't join the show, though.

"It's one of those things where I would waste their time taking a meeting, just so I could hear more about it," he admitted. "I'd ultimately say no, but I'd just have to take the meeting."

Work-life balance trumps money
We are all striving to find a work-life balance where we can have a career but also have plenty of time for our kids, loved ones and ourselves. When looking for work, job possibilities that allow for a work-life balance are the most desirable.

Making time for family

Recently BranchOut surveyed stay-at-home moms who were considering getting back into the workforce. And though a number of factors were important to these moms when looking for a job, the most important was finding a work-life balance.

It comes as no surprise that moms prioritize a work-life balance so that they can spend ample time with their children and families. Eighty-six percent of those moms surveyed said that in their job search, they look for employment that is conducive to providing a work-life balance, with 42 percent of moms saying that it's the most important quality.

Click to enlarge the infographic to the right for more survey results >>

Lovin' it

Moms also want to work at a job where they love what they do — 32 percent of those surveyed said it was the most important, followed by 9 percent saying loving where they work is the most vital.

Show me the money

Perhaps surprisingly, only 7.2 percent of the moms surveyed said compensation was the most important quality when looking for a job. The study indicated that nearly half of moms work because their families are dependent on the income.

Part-time status

Ideally most moms would like to work part time. When asked whether they'd prefer to work full or part time, more than half of moms would choose to work part time at work with 17.2 percent preferring full time at work and 27.5 percent full time at home.

Besides salary, moms planning to return to the workforce were most excited about the ability to interact with adults, practice their chosen craft and achieving a little independence.

Check out these 10 Reasons to go back to work after being a stay-at-home mom >>

Jenny McCarthy to bare boobies in Playboy for autism
Sexy actress and model Jenny McCarthy started her career by stripping down for Playboy. Now, she's returning to where it all started with a new spread in the men's mag. Why now?

How much are Jenny McCarthy's bare breasts worth to her? Well, she posed for Playboy back in 1993 for a cool $20K, but last year the Playmate-turned-actress told Access Hollywood that she'd do it for $2 million toward autism research.

5 Celebs who are passionate about autism >>

Hugh Hefner must have ponied up the cash, because the 39-year-old single mother is set to take it all off for the July/August double issue of the men's monthly, a rep for the magazine confirmed. The new Love in the Wild host joked earlier this week that she's dying to take her clothes off on camera again.

"All I wanted to do [when she began in the industry] was work with my clothes on, and now I just hope to get them off!" McCarthy she joked to E! News. However, she has one worry about posing: her breasts!

“But I feel like, you know, the puppies have gone south and left and right,” she joked to Access Hollywood in 2011. “I’d have to, like, scoop them!"

Don't worry, Jenny: There's Photoshop for that now.

The idea of returning to the magazine that made her famous has been on her mind for a while now.

"I would be so flattered if they asked me. It's probably not going to happen but I think I want to do it again," she said in a 2009 interview. "I would absolutely pose for Playboy."

Jenny McCarthy tackles herself a football player >>

It's not like she has to worry about her weight or anything — McCarthy is in the best shape of her life, thanks to her gluten-free lifestyle.

"I'm still on the Weight Watchers kind of thing, so I just kind of remembered and started counting my points again throughout the day," she said in 2007. "Fruits are zero points, vegetables are zero points, so I make sure I use that to bulk up, and then make sure I have my protein. I usually have my protein at lunch and my carbs at night — I don't mix protein and carbs."

Still, she pigs out from time to time.

"I have my once-a-month nachos," she added to People, "but it's [got] soy cheese and turkey chili on it, so it's somewhat safe. But it's still a big vice for me, because I have a big bowl of it."

Raven-Symoné on gay rumors: Mind yo' business
Is Raven-Symoné a lesbian? A new report in the National Enquirer says she's shacking up with a woman, but she's not talking about it. Instead, the current Broadway star wants everyone to leave her alone.

Former Cosby Show cutie Raven-Symoné was adamant in 2008 that she wasn't in a relationship with a woman. "It's false that I'm dating a girl right now," she said in a statement at the time.

These days she's not so forthcoming about her personal life. The actress — currently starring in Sister Act on Broadway — took to Twitter to tell people to butt out of her business.

"My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I'm datings to know. I'm not one for a public display of my life," Symoné tweeted on Friday afternoon. "I'm living my PERSONAL life the way I'm happiest. I'm not one, in my 25 year career to disclose who I'm dating. and I shall not start now."

"However that is my right as a HUMAN Being whether straight or gay. To tell or not to tell. As long as I'm not harming anyone," she added. "I am a light being made from love. And my career is the only thing I would like to put on display, not my personal life. Kisses!"

The terse statement came after the National Enquirer published an article claiming that the actress is living with former America's Next Top Model contestant AzMarie Livingston in her $11,000-a-month condo in New York City.

"Raven has lost almost 30 pounds, has done a whole image makeover, and now she is the star of Sister Act on Broadway," a source told the tabloid. "She’s at a point now where she doesn’t care what her family thinks, and she’s in love with AzMarie. She’s a lesbian and wants to live that way."

The two have only been living together for a few months, according to the source.

"The two began seeing each other, and a few months ago, Raven finally got the nerve to ask her to move into her lavish Manhattan condo," the source said.

She might be keeping quiet for her family — they don't support the gay lifestyle, according to the magazine.

"She feels her parents are still trying to treat her like she’s a kid, and she’s told them she’s going to do what she wants," the source added. "She told her parents she loves them, but her home — especially her bedroom — is nobody’s business and she was not going to back down, so they needed to accept it, period."

Her Twitter statement makes it seem — at least to us — that she is a lesbian. We don't care, though: She's a talented actress who deserves happiness. Maybe someday she'll feel confident enough to tell the truth — gay or straight — once and for all.

Miley Cyrus' sexy side: Compliments always welcome
Miley Cyrus is happily growing up, filling out and flaunting her sexy figure. If you're feeling a bit awkward about having noticed the child star is coming of age, rest easy. She doesn't mind in the least!

Believe it or not, Miley Cyrus claims she did not intentionally set out to become a sex symbol. That's right, the cleavage-baring former child star just happened to turn into one of the red carpet's hottest items.

Still, though Miley Cyrus doth protest the sex symbol label, she's willing to let onlookers far and wide flatter her.

"If people find that [I am a sex symbol], I take it as a compliment," the 19-year-old said during an interview with Lifetime's The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet on Thursday. "Thank you for thinking I'm sexy!"

Miley Cyrus' hot bod is anorexia- and gluten-free >>

"People are so scared of seeing a woman being like, 'This is who I am and you're not going to change it,'" Miley Cyrus explained of the reaction to her adult-style attire.

The former Hannah Montana star, who released the single "Can't Be Tamed" before her Disney gig had officially ended, seems to be more comfortable with her own coming of age than the public is.

Miley Cyrus loses her religion >>

"Even just the title of that, for a woman to say she can't be tamed… for a woman in the world with my face saying 'I can't be tamed' when that's really all people wanted to do, I think proves how sexist people still really are," the fiancée girlfriend of Liam Hemsworth shared.

Still, Miley Cyrus insists she's learned a lot about who she was then and who she can be now.

"I feel I was so trained in my interviews to be All-American or whatever," she went on to say. "I just got so set in the way of saying the same things I did when I was 12 years old… I guess I kind of realized that my whole life isn't one giant press junket. I don't have to be smiling all the time and always have the perfect answer."

Is Miley Cyrus too sexy, or are we just not willing to let her grow up?

ABC's Private Practice episode recap: "Gone Baby Gone"
Amelia's baby finally arrived, and then departed, in the season finale of Private Practice.

The fifth season of Private Practice came to an emotional close with Tuesday night's "Gone, Baby, Gone," as Amelia finally gave birth to her child and as Pete confronted the ramifications of last week's arrest. And Addison, who opened the hour by telling her therapist she finally has "everything [she's] ever wanted," ended it faced with the possibility of too much of a good thing.

But let's back up and take these stories one at a time:

Upon going into labor early in the episode, Amelia told Jake she neither wanted to see nor hear her baby after its birth. In fact, she just wanted to be wheeled out of the obstetrics floor as quickly as possible, so as not to get emotionally attached to her baby — a baby she has long been willing to donate to science, on account of his lack of a brain. But as the birth of her doomed child speedily approached, the staff of Seaside Wellness debated the ethics of Amelia's decision. Sam, for one, wanted no part of dismantling Amelia's offspring for parts, especially since the baby would, in fact, have a brainstem.

"The baby will be alive," Sam told his colleagues. "It's not a life I'd want, but it's not a life I'd kill."

On the other end of the debate, Jake told everyone to stay out of Amelia's hospital room if they couldn't be supportive. He also begged Addison to help Sam change his mind, as the hospital would need Sam's expertise to harvest the baby's heart and lungs. And Charlotte, concerned how this unfolding drama could pose a legal threat for the hospital, didn't want anyone to make a move until attorneys could be brought into the mix.

Meanwhile, Pete weathered his own legal storm after blatantly telling the courtroom he was in no way sorry for the actions he took last week. Pete's sense of moral certitude in the face of prison time angered Violet, who has spent much of the season believing Pete will do anything to run away from facing the problems of their marriage and family.

"You did the right thing by your patient," Violet admitted to her husband, through a pane of glass. "You did not do the right thing by our family."

But in the end it was Cooper who helped Pete to see reason, citing the fact that Cooper's dear, departed wife will never even have the option of watching their son grow up. In contrast, Cooper said, Pete has a chance to spend every day with his own son and is throwing it away. Not long after this conversation, Pete expressed remorse to the court, was released on bail, and fell back into Violet's arms. But who's to say what the future holds for these two?

Ultimately, Sam did show up to help harvest the organs of Amelia's child — after a particularly persuasive monologue from the soon-to-be mother — and the resolution of his inner conflict brought his own feelings about Addison into clearer focus. He does want to have a family, after all. And he wants it with Addison.

And Mason, apparently coming to terms with the death of his mother, asked Charlotte if he could call her "momma." She, of course, agreed. He's even thinking of becoming a doctor, too.

Amelia's storyline closed with the new mother deciding to hold her baby, after all, for a few stolen moments before it was sent away for surgery. "Your father's waiting for you," she told him, as she sent him away, her eyes full of tears. And with Sam's help, the infant's organs were sent across the country to help dozens of children live fuller lives.

At episode's end, moved by his own experience with Amelia and by the events of the season as a whole, Sam dropped to one knee and asked for Addison's hand in marriage. His timing wasn't the greatest, however, as his indecisiveness in weeks past had already prompted Addison to step up her romance with Jake. Looks like fans will have to wait until season six to see what happens next!

Think women are lousy drivers? Watch out for teen girls
According to a recent study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, teen girls are twice as likely to use electronic devices while driving. When teens have friends in the car, there is a marked increase in distractions and unsafe driving. Keep reading for more findings from this study, and what you can do to help your teen drive more safely.

According to a recent study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, teen girls are twice as likely to use electronic devices while driving. When teens have friends in the car, there is a marked increase in distractions and unsafe driving.

Cell phones not the only distraction

Keep reading for more findings from this study, and what you can do to help your teen drive more safely.

Why are our teens such lousy drivers?

Every 16-year-old dreams of the day they pass their behind-the-wheel test and are awarded their first driver’s license. However, the reality of teens driving is anything but a dream. According to the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, one in three teen deaths in the U.S. is attributed to motor vehicle accidents. Teens between the ages of 16 and 19 are more likely to be involved in such accidents than people in any other age group.

Distracted driving

Use of electronic devices while driving is a huge distraction for teens — and girls are twice as likely to use them. Distractions aren’t all electronic, however. Eating or drinking, adjusting controls, reaching around in the car for items, talking to friends and personal grooming are just as distracting to the driver. The AAA Foundation study found that girls were 50 percent more likely to reach for an object and nearly 25 percent more likely to be eating or drinking. The more friends your teen has in the car, the more distracted she is while driving.

Read about what to teach kids about cell phone safety >>

Brain still developing

The part of the brain that controls emotion, risk-taking and decision-making is the frontal lobe — which is not fully mature until around the age of 25. This contributes to the fact that teens are more impulsive drivers, more easily distracted while driving and often make poor decisions in emergency situations. They may be less likely to assess the situation on the road ahead of them, and less adept at analyzing road hazards.

Why are girls worse?

Girls and women have always been statistically better drivers, and enjoyed lower car insurance rates as a result. Now the gender gap is narrowing. More girls classify themselves as aggressive drivers and are admitting they are more likely to speed than ever before. Girls are more likely to be distracted by cell phone calls, texting and other distractions while driving. Since girls tend to be more connected to their friends, their vehicle becomes a social event on wheels.

Should you track them or trust them? >>

Help them drive safe

Talk to your teen about safe driving often — not just when she gets her driver’s license. Make the effort to be a passenger in her car often, so you can see first-hand how she is driving and making judgments on the road. Talk to your teen about limiting distractions in the car both when she is driving and when she is a passenger. Implementing a “no food” and “no music” policy in your vehicles — even just for the first year — may severely cut down on the likelihood of accidents.

If your state doesn’t have a graduated license program, consider introducing driving to your teen gradually.

Know

Remember that your teen is watching you drive, too. To raise a competent and safe driver, you need to model the same behavior.

Suzanne Somers wants everyone to see her new boob
Suzanne Somers has had quite the fight with breast cancer. The beautiful Three's Company star even had to have her breast removed to save her life. She sought out the help of a groundbreaking doctor to make her a new one -- and now she can't stop talking about it!

Suzanne Somers has never approached her breast cancer the traditional way, so when doctors told her to choose between breast implants or a fat graft after her mastectomy, she refused.

"'Sew me back up,'" she recently recalled telling her doctors, according to Everyday Health. "I knew something better would come along."

And it did: Somers enlisted the help of the Japanese doctor who invented cell-assisted lipotransfer, or CAL, to reconstruct tissues from stem cells. She underwent the procedure last summer and is now talking about her new breast in public.

"At the time when they took my breasts I didn't want implants, I didn't want a foreign object in my body, I didn't want to do what they call a tram flap, which is where they cut a woman from side to side, at her hip take a muscle and blood vessel and move it up here, there's no feeling," she told Anderson Cooper during an appearance on his daytime talk show this week.

"I heard about a doctor in Japan, at the University of Tokyo, who had successfully regrown the breasts of over 400 Japanese women who had lost their breast to cancer. So I got a hold of him, I brought him over to America, I hooked him up with an American surgeon, we applied for an IRB, which is an Institutional Review Board, which qualified me for a clinical trial. It took me three years of trial and error, yes you can, they kept pulling it on me. In August it came through, I was able to have the surgery," the blonde actress explained.

Two's company: Suzanne Somers and Joyce DeWitt reunite >>

As for the procedure? The surgeon did end up taking some fat from her body to create the cell growth.

"They took fat from my stomach, boo-hoo, okay you can have it," she joked. "This is lay speak in a centrifuge at supersonic speed they whipped out my stem cells, separated them, cleaned them, discarded the weak ones, took the strong ones put them in a small amount of that fat they took from me, and with lack of a better term, with a turkey baster took that concoction injected into this breast and poof, you can see it I have in on my YouTube show, they made it the size of the other one, it has feeling, it's soft, there are no scars. I think it's the most incredible exciting thing to happen in breast cancer in a long time."

Giuliana Rancic: Breast cancer recovery is hell >>

Doctors and other medical experts blasted Somers when she went opted for alternative treatment for her cancer instead of tried-and-true methods. She wrote books about her views — including her controversial use of human growth hormone to keep a youthful appearance. Somers reportedly injects it into her vagina on a daily basis.

"The hormone system is like a symphony and you can put on a symphony if a lot of the players don't show up. It sounds better with the French horns, it sounds better with the string section. If you don't have Zubin Mehta showing up it's all kind of discordance so that would be your thyroid, adrenal, cortisol. So, HGH is like the kiss. HGH is expensive and it's determined by lab work if you have a deficiency," she told Cooper. It builds bone, it builds muscle, it strengthens the heart, the pumping power of the heart. Once I started adding HGH to the concoction I don't know, I don't have trouble with my weight, I sleep eight hours a night. Everything is working as though my body was at its healthiest optimal prime."

However, doctors blast her for promoting HGH for everyday use.

"Use of these products for anti-aging is based on hype, not science," Steven Petak, M.D., of Houston, president of the American College of Endocrinology, told Self.com.

That will do little to deter Somers — she's feeling the best she has in years, thanks to her new breast and lease on life.

"I have a hard time keeping my clothes on now," she joked to Cooper. "if I could I would show it's so great to have two breasts."

Grey's Anatomy season finale: OMG, who died?!
Why would Grey's Anatomy do that? That's what many fans thought while watching last night's season finale. Creator Shonda Rhimes made good on her deadly promise and killed one the series' regulars.

Someone from Grey's Anatomy has gone bye-bye and it's not who you think. For weeks, we've gotten hints that Thursday's finale would bring death. We were warned that someone significant would bite they bullet, and they did.

This year's finale centered on a dramatic plane crash that put multiple lives in danger. Lots of characters were at risk, but only one met their maker. It was Little Grey! Creator and writer Shonda Rhimes killed off Lexie , Meredith's sister.

Lexie was trapped under some wreckage with her legs and pelvis in shambles. Despite the attempts by those around her, including former beau Mark , she was a goner.

To say we were shocked would be an understatement. So what does Rhimes have to say about her bold decision? Shortly after the show aired she took to Twitter to explain the how and why.

"Callie said it best tonight: Life changes in an instant. Turns on a dime.

I love Chyler and I love the character of Lexie Grey. She was an important member of my Grey’s family. This was not an easy decision. But it was a decision that Chyler and I came to together. We had a lot of thoughtful discussion about it and ultimately we both decided this was the right time for her character’s journey to end. As far as I’m concerned Chyler will always remain a part of the Shondaland family and I can’t wait to work with her again in the future.

I’d write more but I’m honestly too sad. I don’t like life changing in an instant and turning on a dime."

R.I.P Little Grey.

How do you feel about Lexie's death? Did Rhimes make the right choice?

Battleship movie review: You Sunk My Space Invader?
It doesn't take a Magic 8 Ball to realize a mysterious object with a Monopoly on the high seas Speaks and Spells Trouble for the US Navy. Though this Twister of an epic action adventure is no Candy Land, Battleship Slips and Slides into Risk with Operation high-tech Chutes and Ladders and will have you screaming Yahtzee!

Okay, I couldn't help myself with the puns, especially given that IMDBpro reports that Adam Sandler is developing a film based on Hasbro's game "Candy Land." Who knew our childhood board games would be the new hot intellectual properties? Of course Sandler will be watching Battleship's box office this weekend -- a bad open for Battleship could lead the "Candy Land" movie into the molasses swamp.

But Battleship delivers on superior spectacle and clearly defined characters, making the stakes of Titanic seem puny compared to the entire planet being at risk. A few extra life rafts won't get the captain out of this jam.

Set in Hawaii, the story takes a while to get going, but the heavy rock soundtrack helps to keep the character/story set-ups rolling. Once the aliens from Planet G arrive, it's full speed ahead.

Alien movies usually present their little green men in the sky. This may be one of the only movies that finds them in the water, making for "Unidentified Floating Objects."

Called "The Regents," the aliens are surprisingly simian, two arms, two legs, walking upright, but somehow a lot more Terminator.

Liam Neeson plays Admiral Shane, perfectly terse and seasoned. Rihanna makes her film-acting debut and delivers a watchable performance as Petty Officer Raikes, a bad-ass weapons specialist. Her best line: "Mahalo, mother-f***ers!"

Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Hopper is much more than watchable, he's a dreamboat, in fact. This role is a much better use of his talents than the title role in John Carter. Brooklyn Decker plays his fiancée Sam Shane , a physical therapist who gets suck on a Hawaiian mountain top when the invasion begins. True Blood's Alexander Skarsgård plays Commander Stone Hopper who could easily convince me to sail away with him .

Hamish Linklater keeps the film afloat with his neurotic wit as the space researcher Cal Zapata. Curiosity kills the cat however when it turns out someone "out there" really was listening to the beacon that was sent into space several years prior. D'oh! Now it will take an entire fleet of destroyers to combat the aliens, who are invading earth to... well, we're not quite sure why they're here, but it can't be good.

NASA and the Pentagon are zero help, of course, and seem to be embracing this "extinction level event." But when the Navy begins using tsunami buoys to track water displacement on a computer screen, the visuals harken back to the old board game especially, as they call out coordinates, "Romeo 6" and "Whiskey 25."

When the Navy's destroyer is destroyed by the aliens, their one shot left is manning the floating museum that is the 70-year-old Battleship. But the young-guns don't know how to operate a steam-powerd ship, so it's up to the old guys -- yes, the often forgotten about Navy veterans, who help save the day -- a nice touch. Adding AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" keeps it rocking' old-school-style.

"They ain't gonna sink this battleship, no way!" declares one of the vets, giving us the closest proximity to the famous line from the TV commercial.

So what will it take to defeat these space invaders? Nuclear war heads? Stealth bombers? Those Navy SEALS who killed Bin Laden? How about… sunlight? And a hell of of lot of courage?

Bottom line: Though a wee bit long at 2 hours and 11 minutes, the filmmakers did an excellent job at bringing this boring old board game into the CGI-tastic 21st Century. No doubt the boys in your life will want to sink this Battleship!

Kylie and Kendall Jenner get (not so) deep in Seventeen
Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner are quickly ascending the ranks of the Kardashian empire with their multiple projects and photo shoots. Their latest? A gig as fashion contributors to Seventeen magazine.

Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner started their new jobs as West Coast contributors for Seventeen magazine — and they're starting off their gig by talking about their favorite fashion items and, of course, their famous sisters.

The gist? Khloe Kardashian is the sister that gives the best advice and has the best shoes, while Kourtney Kardashian has the best style and Kim Kardashian gives good business tips. Basically, it's nothing we haven't heard before from this superficial family.

But, we digress: Kendall, 16, and Kylie, 14, seem like sweet girls who are being groomed early for the family business. The pair's fashion diary will start in the June/July issue of the teen magazine and we're sure it'll be a groundbreaking study in fashion if Kendall's recent interview for Teen Prom magazine is any indication.

On why she chose the prom dress for the cover:

"The reason I chose this dress as one of my dresses to pose in was... 'cause it... I just like it. The colors are pretty," she said.

On her favorite singer:

"The person that I'm listening to right now would actually have to be Katy Perry just 'cause she gets me really like pumped up and happy," she said.

On her ideal prom date:

"My ideal prom date would have to be cute, funny, sweet, nice. I don't know. Just come up to me and talk to me," she advised male suitors. "I'm looking forward to my prom because I'm just excited to have fun, be with my friends and dance the night away."

Why she loves photo shoots:

"My favorite thing about doing photo shoots is just being able to have fun, meeting new people, getting dressed up and I just love doing it. So, I love fun."

Riveting. Again, we have to give these girls some slack because they're young, though these are probably the same deep answers we'd get from Kim and Kourtney, too.

Will Smith lays the smack down on kissy reporter
Will Smith might be a jokester, but don't try to pull a fast one on him unless you want to be slapped. A Ukrainian reporter found that out the hard way during a Friday red carpet event in Moscow.

Men in Black III star Will Smith is an all-around nice guy, but even nice guys have their limits. The actor was making his way down the red carpet at the Moscow premiere of his film when he stopped to talk to a Ukrainian reporter. The reporter — known for his silly and odd PDAs with celebrities — tried to kiss Smith on the mouth.

That's when things got heated.

"What the hell is your problem, man?" Smith yelled at the reporter before slapping him. The camera showed the reporter's sheepish response to the slap while Smith gathered his composure and moved on to another reporter.

"He's lucky I didn't sucker-punch him," the angry actor said. "Oh, sorry, I said that on camera."

Some are questioning Smith's reaction, saying this ruins his nice guy reputation. We say no way: The kiss — joking or not — was uncalled for and we probably would have put our knee to his you-know-what if that was us. As far as we're concerned, Smith was nice with the slight slap.

Smith usually has a good attitude about everything — he has to with young children like Jaden Smith and Willow Smith. Jaden even managed to push his dad's buttons during an Easter weekend visit to the White House.

"I was at the White House with my family and we were getting a tour and, you know, Barack and Michelle and Sasha and Malia... And it's me, Jada and the kids and we're walking through the White House. And the night before Jaden had said to me, 'Dad, I got to ask the president about the aliens.' I was like, 'Dude, no.' It's not cool. It's not cool. It's embarrassing," he recalled on the BBC's Radio One earlier this week.

The president led the Smith family into the White House situation room — and that's when Jaden saw his chance to do a little Men in Black III cross-promotion.

"...Jaden gets the look in his eyes and he leans over and says, 'Dad, what's my punishment?' And I was like, 'Jaden, do not.' And you know, Barack is talking about the Situation Room and Jaden says, 'Excuse me, Mr. President.' I was like, 'Hey, Barack, man…' And Barack said, 'Don't tell me.' And in perfect form, and this is why he's the president, he stopped and looked at Jaden said, 'The aliens, right?'"

Obama didn't miss a beat. "'I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of extraterrestrials, but I can tell you if there had been a top-secret meeting and if there would have had to have been a discussion about it, it would have taken place in this room.'"

But back to the slap: We just have one thing to say — Go Will!

Sean Penn is mad at you for abandoning Haiti
Sean Penn is both sad and disappointed that people -- including his celebrity pals -- have abandoned the Haitian people in the two years since the horrific earthquake in the island nation. Find out what he has to say about everything.

You'd think Sean Penn would be on top of the world now that he's dating supermodel Petra Nemcova again, but you'd be wrong. The actor has the weight of the world on his shoulders and he's upset that others aren't helping take off some of the burden.

His main complaint? Everyone has abandoned Haiti in the two years since an earthquake ravaged the country. "It's not only celebrities who went for a day," Penn spat during an interview at the Cannes Film Festival Friday morning. "It's the whole f***ing world. It's all of you."

Yowza! He's got a point, though: The actor practically lives in Haiti now and works tirelessly with the rebuilding efforts — without cameras. He's got down and dirty to solve problems, too.

"He was not a drive-by celebrity," another Haiti activist, President Bill Clinton, said recently. "He went into those camps and he was actually solving their water problems, solving their sanitation problems."

"Moronic" Sean Penn blasts Prince William >>

The actor was inspired to help after nursing his son through a traumatic brain injury. The injury — and subsequent treatments — helped Penn realize how important medications can be in helping people survive. His son recovered and went to spend time with his ex-wife, Robin Wright Penn when the earthquake happened, freeing him up to do something.

"I really found affection for what those pain medications could do to people. I had just seen his relief, and so then it was four days before the earthquake that both he and his mother had found they were ready to spend time together, so he left, which was initially kind of a 24/7 burden of eight months that I needed to break through," he told The New York Times earlier this year.

Sean Penn is a "communist a**hole" >>

"And then by about day four after that I was just sitting around missing him, and the earthquake happened. I was hearing about the amputations and so on without any IV pain medications, so I put a little group together, but the intention initially was just to go down and distribute those medications to the hospitals and clinics that were doing surgeries."

At the press conference, Penn added that people don't want to talk about Haiti anymore, but they should because there's still a lot of work to be done. "The reason we have Haiti fatigue is because there was never a commitment in the first place," he said.

Sean Penn is a "loser" says White Sox manager >>

There still is hope, though: Cannes organizers are holding a Haiti benefit on Friday night, according to TheWrap.com. "Central problem in Haiti is poverty. Paul Haggis’s group was there before the earthquake, in 2008," Penn continued at Cannes.

"The organizations have solidarity. This is an expression and shared voice… it’s basic love between people. Mathematically Haiti has never had a chance. It’s not defined by the earthquake," he added before calling on President Obama to take a stand for Haiti.

"It is time for our formidable and elegant president [to] stand [side] by side with the new president of Haiti."

At least he has one ally close to him: Nemcova is active in Haitian relief organization and is even building schools in the country.

Is multitasking really bad for you?
Anyone who is a parent of small children knows that you can't get through a single hour, much less an entire day, without multitasking. But according to recent studies, multitasking can be bad for our brains and our health. Are we really putting ourselves in jeopardy by trying to juggle too many balls at once?

Anyone who is a parent of small children knows that you can't get through a single hour, much less an entire day, without multitasking. But according to recent studies, multitasking can be bad for our brains and our health.

Multitasking vs. mommy-tasking

Are we really putting ourselves in jeopardy by trying to juggle too many balls at once?

The illusion of productivity

Mounting evidence shows very clearly that multitasking is not as efficient as we think it is, and in some cases, it is actually dangerous to our health. The problem is that multitasking comes with the illusion of productivity. Just the word itself has a certain appeal. Multitasking. It sounds so effective. How could doing more than one thing at once really be so bad?

Unfortunately, the human mind has a limited capacity for attention. When we try to complete more than one task at once, our attention becomes divided, we miss critical details and our performance is actually compromised. Instead of multitasking, we are switch-tasking at high speed and our brains don’t have time to catch up. The most dangerous form of multitasking seems to be driving while talking on the phone. This causes a form of attention blindness that makes drivers so distracted that they perform worse than someone at the legal limit of alcohol intoxication.

Bad news for multitasking moms

For busy moms, this seems like horrible news. I, for one, can’t imagine a scenario that involves watching children that doesn’t include multitasking. Tell the truth, moms. How often do you find yourself cooking dinner, breaking up fights, answering phone calls, breastfeeding an infant and overseeing your fifth grader’s homework -- all while trying to keep an eye on your toddler so he doesn’t slink off into the bathroom to taste the toilet cleanser?

Add to this the guilt of “multitasking” and you’d be lucky if you get a pot of overcooked macaroni on the table without having a nervous breakdown.

Are moms masters of multitasking?

Fortunately, this cloud has a silver lining. From an evolutionary standpoint, the brains of mothers are very plastic and are prepared to rise to the challenges of day-to-day mothering. During pregnancy and after the birth of a baby, moms’ brains actually change and grow in key areas which help moms to respond more quickly to their babies' needs, help them strategize and plan ahead and actually improve their memory for things related to the well-being of their children. In essence, moms’ brains are perfectly adapted to handle the messy realities of parenting.

Live life in the moment

However, this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try to limit the number of activities you are doing at one time, if you can. While it may be impossible to sort laundry without keeping an eye on your sneaky 2-year-old, you don’t have to talk on the phone, surf the web and post 30-second Facebook status updates at the same time. Live in the moment  as much as you can -- even if that moment is covered with overcooked macaroni and sticky applesauce fingers.
